Materials have arrived
Materials are now available in the Library and tracked in models. Browse by class, preview appearance and properties, and load them directly into Revit from the Kinship add-in or web app. Kinship ensures materials look right for everyone on your team, automatically.
✨ Improved
Select All / None for categories - Select All and None options when choosing categories for libraries or collections.
Open Kinship opens Library - The Open Kinship button in the Revit ribbon opens directly to your team’s Library page instead of the activity page.
Shortcut handling - Improved reliability of desktop shortcuts during install and uninstall.
Better handling of restricted projects and collections - Improved permission checks ensure users can reliably upload families to collections they have write access to, and restricted projects and collections are handled more correctly throughout the add-in.
Help links - Updated help links in the add-in.
Smoother upgrade experience - When upgrading from an older Kinship installation, the installer now automatically detects and removes previous non-auto-updating versions, preventing duplicate installations and version conflicts. Your Kinship configuration is preserved throughout the process.
Uniform error messages - Clearer, more consistent error messages across the add-in.
Installer - Shows a clear message when an IT-managed installation is detected; improved handling of existing installations. And plenty of other improvements behind the curtains
Background sync app - Syncing now starts more reliably when launched from the website.
🔧 Fixed
Model text visibility - Model text is no longer hidden during thumbnail generation.
Thumbnail generation - Elements are unselected before thumbnail export; background set to white correctly.

Select All / None for categories - A new Select All/None option is now available when selecting categories to add to a library or collection.
